It's been a while since we've heard from Russia apart from Putin's amazing exploits in Ukraine and whatnot. This time around, they claim to have developed a new superweapon capable of suppressing satellites and weapons systems including the guidance systems inside cruise missiles. Dubbed Krasuha-4, the system is allegedly able to be mounted on ground, air and water mediums, allowing for universal electronic scrambling. However, it must comply with international weapons laws and will therefore not be mounted on satellites.
The brains behind this project have not disclosed how it works, but have described it as 'a fundamentally new electronic warfare system capable of suppressing cruise missile and other high-precision weaponry guidance systems and satellite radio-electronic equipment.'
This new weapons system does indeed sound fearsome in an age where electrical devices are dominant but it is still a claim by the Russians and ground tests are scheduled to begin in months.
