Bam! This is where science fiction meets reality. Face it. Every one of you dreamed of a hover car, board or plane when you were a kid. The folks at Lexus have taken that first step into the future. It's no joke people, the only special effects here are the flares and the smoke.
Fashioned into the spectacularly sleek design synonymous with most Japanese and Lexus products, the board uses spindle grille and a natural bamboo top to showcase the skateboard of the future.

Gone are the days of face plants, dodgy trucks, shoddy wheels.

So how does this work? Superconductors is Lexus's answer. Cooled by liquid nitrogen, the superconductors achieve magnetic repulsion against the Earth's core.

Sadly according to Lexus, this product isn't for consumers. Yet. It's a part of a campaign called Amazing in Motion. However, the good news is that other organisations are indeed working on their own models. The hoverboard may yet find its place in the world.
